The Project

A very different job from a tight suburban street — this estate sits on a wooded hillside with a long private driveway and no close neighbors. The roof is a large, complex multi-hip design: several intersecting planes, a full-height brick chimney, two skylights, and a run of vent stacks and exhaust penetrations that all needed to be reflashed as part of the replacement.

Roof size and pitch drove the approach. The crew worked in harnesses tied to roof anchors across the steeper planes, staging material in smaller loads rather than lining the whole ridge at once. Ground tarps were laid down the hillside below the eaves so tear-off debris could be collected on the slope instead of scattering into the lawn and garden beds.

The new system is GAF Timberline HDZ architectural shingles over Stinger EXO25 synthetic underlayment, with new flashing at the chimney, both skylight curbs, and every pipe penetration. Hips and ridges were capped to follow the roofline, and the site was swept clean before handover.
